Ecumenical Lenten Resource 2012 - Information and Planning Session
Wednesday 9 November 2011 (10am -11.30am)Theme: Fast, Pray, Give/Receive
It offers suggestions for four group sessions in Lent. The first session focuses on the concept of Lent itself. The following three sessions are devoted to three spiritual disciplines which have been traditionally associated with Lent: fasting, prayer and almsgiving. Scriptural passages, wisdom from the past, contemporary insights and questions for reflection are included.
The resource builds on 40 years of such resources being prepared by the Churches together in SA and invites people not only to engage in education and conversation but to move beyond the discussion process to inner conversion and to action.
We encourage you to participate in small groups, especially in the companionship of other Christians.
An Information and Planning Session for people in parishes, agencies, ecumenical organisations has been arranged by SACC - all are welcome!
