Refugee and Migrant Sunday 2011
Refugee and Migrant Sunday is a celebration of the dignity of people who are refugees and migrants and the contribution they have made to life in Australia. It is celebrated by the Churches together on or around the last Sunday of August each year.
Resources to assist us to mark Refugee and Migrant Sunday (28 August 2011) have been prepared again this year by the SACC Working Party
Contribute to the needs of the saints; extend hospitality to strangers. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. Romans 12:13-15

Annual Ecumenical Lecture Christian unity today: post-denominational, post-colonial and missional

BA (Qld), Dip Ecum St (St Andrews), PhD (St Andrews), Grad Cert Ter Ed (Flinders), EdD (Flinders)
Andrew is Principal of Uniting College for Leadership & Theology, the Uniting Church’s theological college in SA, the President-Elect of the Uniting Church in Australia, Professor in the Department of Theology at Flinders University and the President of the Adelaide College of Divinity. He is widely published in theology and ethics, and researches, writes and comments on religion, ethics, spirituality and society.

SACC General Meeting
The General Council gathered on 9 April at the Coptic Orthodox Church, Cowandilla. Comments from participants include, “I really appreciated the beautiful singing in the Church by the children”, “generous hospitality from the church community - food, venue, gift of a Prayer Book”, “a stimulating agenda, and time to talk/mingle”, “great participation by young people - at the meeting and in the Museum/Gallery”, “inspirational presentations by Bek Christensen, Peter Lockwood and Lorna Hallahan”.

Domestic Violence Handbook for Clergy and Pastoral Workers - Workshop in the Barossa Valley
Purpose: to unwrap the wisdom contained in the Domestic Violence Handbook for Clergy and Pastoral Workers and to assist us in responding more faithfully to any person in a domestic violence situation who may be seeking our understanding and support.

Anglican Ecumenical Network Annual Forum
The focus of the forum will be on Lay Ministry. Forum presentations will include a presentation from Marelle Harisun, Co-Convenor of the dialogue of the Roman Catholic and Uniting Churches in South Australia. The dialogue has recently released a paper on the theme Lay Ministry in the Roman Catholic and Uniting Churches. There will also be some presentations by Anglican lay people in response to the dialogue paper and their experience of lay ministry.
